Our stay at Pangolin Lodge was truly unforgettable and one of the highlights of our trip to South Africa. We traveled as two families, and from the moment we arrived, we felt completely taken care of. The lodge itself is absolutely beautiful, and the accommodations were luxurious—especially the outdoor showers, which made the experience feel even more unique and connected to nature. Every detail was thoughtfully curated to create both comfort and authenticity. What truly set this experience apart, though, was the service. CF and Mari were exceptional hosts—warm, attentive, and incredibly personable. They made us feel like family from day one. Their ability to connect with everyone in our group, especially my son who is on the spectrum, meant so much to us. CF went above and beyond, even embracing my son’s fascination with the big puddles after a rainstorm—those small, thoughtful moments made a lasting impact. The safari experience itself was beyond incredible. We were lucky enough to see all of the Big Five—including the rare black rhinos—which was absolutely surreal. The attention to detail during the game drives was unmatched. The coffee stops were such a special touch, and the bush breakfast was one of the most memorable and authentic experiences of our entire trip. We also highly recommend the catered option—it elevated everything. Not having to think about meals allowed us to fully relax and enjoy every moment, and the food was consistently delicious. I did a lot of research before choosing a lodge in this area, and I can confidently say that Pangolin Lodge exceeded every expectation. If you are considering a safari, look no further—this is a truly special place. Highly, highly recommend.

Nothing wrong with the stay. Accommodation was nice and you’re situated far away from others, relaxing. Only negative would be our guide CF. Most uncharismatic guide I’ve ever had. Shame as you’re supposed to love your guides on a safari. Made the drives a lot less fun tbh. Mari was nice though! Overall great stay and rooms were cleaned daily. Fireplace was nice.

Staying at Pangolin Lodge was a serendipitous find. We stayed there for three nights, with family visiting from Brazil and it was one of the best stays we could have had. CF and Mari, our hosts, went out of their way to make us feel welcome, from the warm water bottles on our morning game drives to the superbly stocked kitchen. CF has so much knowledge and regaled us with tales of conservation and the bush and it is clear that Mari is continuously working to improve the lodge. I love the way the rooms are situated, intimate, but private and I will go back there in a heartbeat!

What an amazing week we had. The attention to detail is next level, from heated face cloths and a different welcome home drink each night. The hot water bottles, blankets and those amazing game drive snacks made for wonderful bush experiences. The drives didn't disappoint and the sightings were very good, from lion, to cheetah and even a leopard. Elephant and giraffe, buck and birds were aplenty. We did the catered option and let me tell you the food is awesome. The brunches in the bushes were so tasty, the potjie was next level and we even got home made bread. I loved the comfort of our room, the open air shower, the relaxing baths and tea and coffee on tap. The space that the main lodge offers and the way the gardens are set out makes you feel like you are in and surrounded by the bush. I could not think of a better place to celebrate family. Thank you to CF and Mari and your team for a truly wonderful time.

From the moment we arrived, the staff at the lodge went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, safe, and completely at ease. Every interaction reflected their genuine care and attention to detail – nothing was too much effort, and every need was anticipated before we even thought to ask. The game drives were an absolute highlight. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate, making each outing both exciting and educational. We were lucky enough to have up-close sightings of leopard, cheetah, and lion, and we sat in awe as a massive herd of elephants and their babies drank from a watering hole just metres away. We also saw hippos, giraffe, zebra, countless buck species, and both black and white rhino – truly a rare treat. Back at the lodge, the experience was just as memorable. The food was consistently outstanding – every breakfast, lunch, and dinner offered a generous selection of dishes packed with flavour. The portions were beyond generous, and the distinctly African flair in the food choices added a wonderful touch of authenticity. Each morning brought a different hand-selected coffee to try, which became something we genuinely looked forward to. The rooms were immaculate and cleaned daily, and it was clear that the team took pride in every aspect of the guest experience. The small touches – like personalised service, warm conversations, and attention to even the smallest detail – elevated the stay far beyond expectations. This trip was the perfect mix of adventure and relaxation. I left feeling deeply restored, full of gratitude, and already planning my return. Highly, highly recommended.
